Mechanical advantage allows you to move a heavier load with less effort than you could otherwise. Here the 60kg weight moves easier because it moves over a pulley which rotates making the effort needed much less. No mechanical advantage in weight but less effort. In this fixed pulley system the bucket of water is easier to lift because the rope goes around a pulley wheel.. In this fixed and movable pulley system the containers are lifted and transported onto flat backed wagons. This means that because there are two pulleys working together the mechanical advantage is greater. The 20kg weight can now be lifted with only 10kg of effort. In this combination pulley system you can see how different numbers of pulleys can be used depending upon the weight of the load. In this compound pulley yet another pulley has been added increasing the mechanical advantage yet again. The 60kg weight can now be lifted with only 15kg of effort. In this compound pulley system the multiple pulley systems make it much easier for the crane operator to move their loads.
