digestive system [information over pictures] [3b],
Here is an animated recap of the digestive system.
The food we eat is chewed and swallowed being diverted towards the stomach by the pharynx at the back of the throat.

The food travels towards the stomach by a series of muscles that squeeze together and push the food down a tube called the esophagus.

When the food gets to the stomach it begins to be attacked by acids which break it down into smaller parts.

Anything useful from the food is absorbed through the stomach wall into the bloodstream and taken around the body.
The waste materials travel on through the small and large intestine into the rectum.
The small intestine shown here, is the length of a tennis court.
Here you can see the whole process from the mouth and down into the stomach. The pancreas adds enzymes and the gallbladder adds bile to the mix. It then travels around the small and large intestine into the rectum and finally out into the toilet.
