Earth takes a year to orbit the Sun. That's : 4 seasons, 12 months, 52 weeks, 365 days. * The Earth's tilt does not change at ANY time. Here the Northern Hemisphere is pointing away from the Sun and it is cold. It is Winter,which begins at the beginning of December and lasts until the end of February. Here the Northern Hemisphere is side on to the Sun and is therefore getting warmer. It is Spring, which begins at the beginning of March and lasts until the end of May. Here the Northern Hemisphere is pointing towards the Sun and is therefore at its warmest. It is Summer which begins at the beginning June and lasts until the end of August. Here the Northern Hemisphere is side on to the Sun and is therefore cooler. It is Autumn which begins at the beginning of September and lasts until the end of November. The weather is getting warmer,there are signs of new plant growth with snowdrops, daffodils and buds on the trees. A time of seeing new born lambs in the fields and birds nestbuilding. The weather is now at its hottest with some crops starting to grow whilst other like strawberries ready for harvesting. A time for holidays, picnics and days away from school. The weather is now getting cooler with farmers keen to harvest their crops. A time of haystacks, conkers, Halloween and bonfires. The weather is now at its coldest with frost, snow and ice. A time of shorter days, building snowmen and of course Christmas.
