Here is a picture of where the different parts of the digestive system are situated in the body.
Here is a labelled diagram showing the names of the different parts of the digestive system and where they are.
The following pictures give you more information about each part.
All the blood leaving the stomach and intestines passes through the liver.
The liver processes and purifies this blood and creates the nutrients that are easier to use for the rest of the body.
Waste products from the digestive process include undigested parts of food and fluid.
The large intestine absorbs water and changes the waste from liquid into poo.
Peristalsis is a muscular squeezing of the intestine which helps move the poo into your rectum.
You can see it happening in this animation.
The lower end of your large intestine is called the rectum.
It stores the stools [lumps of poo] until it can push them out of the anus when you go to the toilet.
